Hey there, what’s up?

Let me share my story with you. My name is Valerie, and I’m a sixteen-year-old from Florida (and New York). I’ve made my mark on the world not just through my powerful forehand on the tennis court, or the new pickle ball dinks I’ve just learned; but through my determination to make a difference.

My journey has been a rollercoaster of triumphs and setbacks. I rose to become a top-ranked junior national tennis player, but my dreams were derailed by multiple bone fractures and misdiagnoses from surgeons and orthopedists.

This led to a cycle of casts/boots, MRIs, CT scans, and bone tests- and ended with multiple surgeries and long periods of bed rest. But instead of letting these challenges define me, I chose to rise above them. During those difficult times, I focused on finding a way to turn my struggles into something positive. That’s how Serve for Strength was born. It’s a charity Pickleball Tournament that I’m organizing at the world-famous Saddlebrook Resort and Spa, with all proceeds going to help children who need life-changing bone surgeries.

I’m passionate about making sure that these kids have the chance to live healthy, active lives, just like I’ve been fortunate enough to do. For me, the titanium pins in my body are more than just reminders of my own battles; they’re symbols of my strength and resilience. I like to think of myself as Supergirl, knowing that with every step I take, I’m defying the odds.

But I can’t do this alone. I know how fortunate I am to have health insurance that covers most of my surgical costs, and I’m determined to extend that privilege to those who aren’t as lucky.

With your support, my vision becomes a reality. Every participant, every donation, and every bit of support for Serve for Strength is a lifeline for a child in need.

So please, join me on this journey. Together, we can make the world a better place, one serve at a time. Thank you for being a part of my story.
